Shaping the future with the Bremerhaven University
Our long-standing partnership with the “Process Engineering and Energy Technology” degree program at Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences is a central part of our innovation strategy. This collaboration gives students the opportunity to combine theoretical knowledge with practical experience.
In addition, symex supports scholarship holders of the “Sustainable Energy and Environmental Technologies” degree program as part of the Deutschlandstipendium. Member of the Climate Alliance in the fishing port
We have had our headquarters in the fishing port in Bremerhaven since 2007. This 450-hectare industrial park has set itself the joint goal of becoming climate-neutral by 2030. The climate alliance of companies in the fishing port and the Fischereihafen-Betriebsgesellschaft Bremerhaven (FBG) has formed working groups on key topics such as renewable energies, mobility and hydrogen.
The alliance currently consists of 27 companies and institutions from the fishing port and the region and is considered one of the largest cross-company climate protection initiatives in Germany, which also brings competitors together. The FBG coordinates the work of the alliance as an independent partner.

The Fischtown Pinguins are a successful ice hockey team and an important part of the Bremerhaven community. Their commitment extends beyond sport and includes numerous social, cultural and environmentally oriented initiatives.

This year, symex is also celebrating its 25th anniversary. A suitable moment to look back and consciously take the time to tell the story of 1997 and let it sink in. The company looks back from here with gratitude. With joy and innovative strength, it looks confidently into the future.

symex receives what is for itself the largest order in the company’s history with an order volume of around 25 million.
Further innovations such as a device and method for homogenizing flowable materials (Tri-Twister) and the further development of the Co-Twister for solids are officially recognized and granted by the patent office.
The production capacity was doubled by a further extension. Special production areas from prefabrication to pre-assembly and final assembly enable series production with the highest quality standards. Delivery times of 3 to 6 months are achieved and up to 10 systems can be put into operation on site at the same time. A total of 4.800 m² of production space and 2.500 m² of office space are now part of the symex premises.

Constancy and stability are also evident in 2019, when a two-year agreement for 2 plant systems is concluded for the first time.
The largest order in the company's history to date was achieved in 2017. Eight mixing plants with an order value of 10 million euros were a huge success for the company. 21 years have passed since then and the technology has been further developed and perfected during this time.

In 2016, the three managing partners Schröder, Boos and Fass handed over the management to Sven Haushahn and Ulf Sieckmann. The new managing directors have successfully managed the company in the interests of the partners to this day.
In 2015, symex became a finalist for the Grand Prize for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises. The prize is a coveted business award nationwide and is given to small and medium-sized companies from all sectors that have distinguished themselves through special achievements.

The following year, 2014, the administration building was expanded to include a third office floor. At this point, the company had cracked the magic mark of 3 employees in total. A team of engineers, draftsmen, designers, mechanics, electronics engineers, welders, grinders, project managers, buyers, sales people and accountants. Particular attention was always paid to careful growth in order to keep up with existing structures and to ensure that the company did not become left behind.
The year 2014 was crowned with the awarding of the Bremerhaven Business Prize.
The new building was planned from the outset in such a way that further expansion of the area and the creation of more jobs could theoretically be carried out. The practical implementation then followed in 2013 with the addition of a warehouse and production hall.

Because in 2008 the production at the previous company headquarters in Bremerhaven was bursting at the seams and there were no suitable properties on the “second-hand market”, the company symex built a new building and started its production in February 2008 at the fishing port in the Lengstraße 10. Complete production lines were then manufactured in the 1.600 square meter production hall. An administration building was also built which, in addition to offices and storage rooms, also offers an in-house technical center with a large showroom for tests. Customers can put the symex technology through its paces there and experience the advantages first hand.
symex now offers complete solutions from a single source, from system planning to delivery and commissioning directly at the customer's site, with a 24-hour service for spare parts and services. For this reason, many of the original customers have remained loyal to the company to this day and maintain a partnership-based relationship.

In 2003, investor Wolfgang Fass joined as another managing partner. As an entrepreneur, he was also managing partner of vatec-Maschinenbau GmbH in Bremen at the time. The company was renamed symex GmbH & Co. KG.
Derived from the words friendly and exclusive, the company became a brand that was protected and known throughout the world. symex – stands for friendly service and exclusive solutions.
Around 70% of the mixing and homogenizing systems were developed for customers from abroad in 2002. In five years, symex had managed to become one of the industry leaders.

With an extraordinary inventiveness, Schröder and Boos managed to develop a homogenizing technology that was new on the market. The advantage this design and process gave mixing technology was so great that the first patent was filed with determination. The granting of the so-called Co-Twister patent, a rotor-rotor homogenizer that offers unlimited flexibility through independent control of shear and pumping power, is still an incomparable and unmatched competitive advantage today.
The rapid growth caused a stir in 1998. The steady demand for symex products continued so high that the move from Wanna to Bremerhaven was possible at the beginning of 1999.

On February 18.02.1997, XNUMX, Johann Schröder and Dr. Frank-Rüdiger Boos signed the joint partnership agreement in Cuxhaven and founded “Schröder & Boos Misch- und Anlagentechnik GmbH & Co. KG” in Wanna. The entrepreneurial goal was to set up a customer service for mixing and homogenizing systems.
